About Daniel
Therapeutic Background
Daniel is grateful for the friendship and early career mentorship he received from the late Dr. Evan Imber-Black, where he learned how to blend empathic curiosity with attuned couple and family therapy skills. Daniel's background includes advanced training at the Integrated Healthcare and Medical Family Therapy Intensive (University of Rochester), Gottman Method Couple Therapy Level 3 (Gottman Institute), and Attachment-Based Family Therapy Advanced Workshop (ABFT International). He is Clinical Director at Kingfisher Marriage and Family Therapy, an AAMFT Clinical Fellow, and an Adjunct Faculty Member at Mercy University. Daniel is a long-time meditator and member of the Zen community in New York.
Personal Background
Growing up in New York’s Finger Lakes Region, Daniel developed a deep appreciation for the changing seasons and the tranquility of nature. His grandmother introduced him to the quiet pleasure of spending time with a good novel. Playing musical instruments, reading, reflecting in nature, and thoughtful inquiry are favorite activities for him.

Daniel’s undergraduate studies in music, philosophy and psychology led him to an independent fellowship in West Africa for six months. This experience deepened his life-long interest in the arts, particularly music. He moved to NYC in 2002, studied jazz for several years and acquired a new appreciation for the creative process, the art of listening and improvising. Eventually, Daniel shifted his focus, pursuing a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy University.

Today, Daniel lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife and an indoor family of plants of many shapes and sizes. They hope to soon add a dog to their family.
